JEE Main Toppers 2026: State-wise Toppers and Female Toppers — What to Note

State-wise tables show where the 100-percentile scorers come from. States with multiple 100-percentilers include Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan.

State Number of 100-Percentile Scorers (from NTA list) Notable names (sample)
Andhra Pradesh Multiple (several entries) Pasala Mohith; Narendrababu Gari Mahith; Jonala Roshan
Telangana Multiple Mantha Shiva Kamesh; Vivan Mahiswari; Doranala Bhavitesh Reddy
Rajasthan Multiple Kabeer Chhillar; Arnav Gautam; Yashwardhan
Delhi (NCT) Multiple Shreyas Mishra; Aditya Gupta; Atharva Punjabi
Maharashtra Multiple Siddharth Athaley; Madhav Viradiya

Female toppers: NTA highlighted 5 female toppers in the high-percentile list. Their top percentiles are under 100 but close to the highest scores.

S.No. Application No. Name State NTA Percentile
    1 260310443636 MALLAVARAPU AASNA TELANGANA 99.9982287
    2 260310243601 ASHIGREWAL HARYANA 99.9969766
    3 260310581378 SAUMYA AGUPTA RAJASTHAN 99.9965185
    4 260310087925 AROHI DESHPANOE RAJASTHAN 99.9965137
    5 260311091938 DEVANYAA RANA DELHI (NCT) 99.9962208

Why this matters to you: female representation among toppers shows competition is spread, but note that none of the five female toppers reached the 100.0000000 percentile in the published list.

    Category-wise and PwBD Toppers (Highlights)

NTA publishes category-wise topper entries in the result. These affect seat allocation and counselling priorities during JoSAA/CSAB rounds.

    Category Topper (sample) NTA Percentile
Unreserved (General) AARUSH SINGHAL (CHANDIGARH) 100.0000000
OBC-NCL NARENDRABABU GARI MAHITH (ANDHRA PRADESH) 100.0000000
    Gen-EWS SAI RITHVIK REDDY V.V. (TELANGANA) 100.0000000
SC DEVA SRIVEDH (ANDHRA PRADESH) 99.9992271
    ST DAKSHSEHRA (RAJASTHAN) 99.9938620
PwBD ARSH JAIN (MADHYA PRADESH) 99.9222762

How this affects counselling: category-wise toppers can impact opening ranks and reservation-backed seats. If you qualify above the announced cutoff, you become eligible for JEE Advanced and later for JoSAA counselling, subject to your category and other rules.

How to Download Your Session 2 Scorecard (step-by-step)

    1. Go to the official JEE Main portal and click the session 2 results link. You can also access the jeemain.nta.nic.in scorecard section.
    2. Enter your application number and date of birth , then submit.
    3. Download and save the PDF. It shows NTA percentiles for overall and for each subject (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) and the All India Rank (AIR) where applicable.

What the scorecard shows and why NTA percentile matters:

    • Your scorecard shows subject-wise percentiles and the final NTA percentile. NTA uses the highest percentile across both sessions (best-of-two) for the final rank.
    • Percentile is a relative measure — it ranks you against other test-takers in the same session.

Tip: Keep a copy of the scorecard PDF and the final answer key to calculate your raw marks later if needed.

Session 1 vs Session 2 — Best Percentile Rule and Comparisons

NTA considers the best NTA percentile from the two sessions for a candidate when preparing the final rank list. If you appeared in both, the higher percentile will be used.

Practical point for you: if your session 1 percentile was lower than session 2, the higher one is automatically taken for ranking. If you appeared only in one session, that session's percentile is your final percentile.

If you appeared in both and want to check subject-level improvements, compare the subject percentiles on each session scorecard before counselling.

How the Toppers List Is Prepared & Tie-breaker Rules

    Ranking method used by NTA:

    1. NTA considers the highest NTA percentile across a candidate's sessions for the final rank.
    2. If two or more candidates have the same overall percentile, NTA applies tie-breakers in this order:
    3. Higher percentile in Mathematics
    4. Higher percentile in Physics
    5. Higher percentile in Chemistry
    6. Lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers for all subjects combined
    7. Lower ratio of incorrect to correct answers in Mathematics, then Physics, then Chemistry
    8. If tie persists, candidates receive a joint rank

Why NTA doesn’t publish raw marks out of 300 for toppers:

    • NTA releases percentiles and subject percentiles publicly. Raw marks out of 300 are not listed for the topper list; however, candidates can compute raw marks using the final answer key and their response sheet.

Marks vs Percentile: Interpreting 100 Percentile and Expected Marks

Important: 100 percentile does not mean 300/300 . It means the candidate scored the highest relative score in their session (or across sessions when best-of-two is applied).

NTA’s published expected bands (reference) give you an idea of raw-score ranges that typically map to high percentiles. Use these bands only as an estimate.

Raw Score Out of 300 (approx) Percentile range
    300 to 291 100 to 99.99989
    290 to 281 99.99908 to 99.99745
    280 to 271 99.99417 to 99.99347
    270 to 261 99.99016 to 99.98881
    260 to 251 99.97720 to 99.96976
    250 to 241 99.95028 to 99.94664
    240 to 231 99.91595 to 99.93498
    230 to 221 99.86623 to 99.90111

Session 1 reference for 100 percentile expected marks: many 100-percentile scorers in session 1 had an estimated raw score band of 250–300 (this is NTA’s expected-conversion style used by analysts; raw marks must be calculated using answer key and your responses).

How to estimate your raw score:

    • Download your response sheet and final answer key.
    • Add +4 for each correct response and -1 for each incorrect (if that is the marking scheme you had). Calculate total raw marks out of 300.
    • Refer to the percentile bands above to get a rough mapping to percentile.

JEE Main Cutoff Percentiles & JEE Advanced Eligibility

The cutoff percentiles to qualify for JEE Advanced 2026 were published with the session 2 result. Meet these percentiles to be eligible for JEE Advanced registration.

    Category Cutoff Percentile (2026)
    Unreserved (UR) 93.41235
    Gen-EWS 82.41645
    OBC-NCL 80.92326
    SC 63.91728
    ST 52.01747
    UR-PwD 0.002319

    Who qualifies for JEE Advanced:

    • Any candidate who scores equal to or above the category-wise cutoff percentile becomes eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, subject to other eligibility conditions (age, number of attempts, etc.).
    • Use your final NTA percentile (best across sessions) to check eligibility.

Practical next steps after meeting cutoff:

    • Register for JEE Advanced when the registration window opens.
    • Prepare JoSAA/CSAB counselling documents in advance (class 10 & 12 certificates, ID proof, category certificates if applicable).

Practical Next Steps for Candidates: From Scorecard to Counselling

    1. Download your session 2 scorecard from jeemain.nta.nic.in and save the PDF.
    2. Download your response sheet and the final answer key to calculate raw marks if you want a marks estimate.
    3. Check if your final percentile meets the JEE Main cutoff for JEE Advanced eligibility (see table above).
    4. If eligible, register for JEE Advanced as per schedule. Also watch JoSAA counselling dates once JEE Advanced ranks are out.
    5. Use rank predictor and college predictor tools to shortlist likely colleges and branches based on your expected AIR.

Important timeline note: the JEE Advanced practice/test window ran from Apr 6, 2026 to May 2, 2026 . Keep the registration dates and practice-test windows in mind when planning.

    • State clusters: Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan showed multiple 100-percentile scorers. That indicates strong prep ecosystems and high competition in those states.
    • Mathematics matters: the tie-breaker places Mathematics first, so strong maths performance often proves decisive at the top.
    • Female representation: five female toppers made the high-percentile list, though none reached 100 percentile; this highlights narrowing gender gaps but room for growth.
    • Data gaps: NTA does not publish raw marks for toppers, or personal backgrounds. So we can infer patterns (subject strength, state clusters) but cannot attribute success to coaching or personal strategy from this data alone.

If you’re preparing for next attempts: focus on consistent accuracy in Maths and Physics, and reduce negative marks; tie-breakers and incorrect/correct ratios can decide ranks at the top.

Closing note on sources and gaps

All figures in this guide are taken from the NTA result release and the official session 2 publication (scorecards and topper lists). Where NTA does not publish raw marks out of 300 for toppers, analysts use the final answer key plus response sheets to estimate raw marks — those remain estimates.

Gaps to keep in mind: NTA does not publish personal backgrounds, coaching histories or exact raw marks for the published topper list. That limits deeper demographic or preparation-pattern analysis.

If you want help estimating your raw score or checking likely colleges for your expected AIR, download your scorecard and response sheet first. Then use rank/college predictor tools and follow the JEE Advanced registration updates.
