College Internship Opportunities :
While the university has a business incubation center for startups and societies like HackOverflow, specific internship opportunities within the college weren't heavily emphasized during my time. Most students I know who landed good internships did so through their own efforts and networking.
Course Information :
I'm doing my B.Tech in CSE here. The course has good placement potential, but honestly, you'll need to supplement your learning with resources like YouTube and Udemy. The curriculum is updated, but self-study is key for in-depth knowledge. It's a mix of classroom learning and independent study.
Fee Structure :
The annual course fee is around ₹1,60,000, with semester fees at ₹80,000. Chandigarh University offers the CUCAT scholarship exam, where you can score up to a 100% scholarship. Hostel fees for a four-seater are about ₹90,000. Scholarships are also available for army personnel and single-parent students.
Faculty :
The HODs are really knowledgeable and supportive, which is a big plus. However, for some subjects, you might find yourself relying more on external resources like YouTube for better understanding. It's a mixed bag, but the faculty is generally approachable and helpful.
Campus Details :
The campus is beautiful, especially the south side. The crowd is diverse, with students from all over India and even abroad. Attendance is strict (75% required). There's a student care center to resolve queries, and the staff is supportive. The location is a bit far from Chandigarh, but the campus is safe with security checkpoints.
