DAV College Chandigarh: Okay Academics, but Placement Scene is Weak

Likes

  • Good academic environment
  • Decent infrastructure
  • Affordable fee structure
  • Lively campus life

Dislikes

  • Poor placement opportunities
  • Lack of industry exposure
  • Inconsistent faculty quality
  • Limited internship support
  • Class Size :
  • Course Fees : INR per year

College Internship Opportunities :

Internship opportunities are scarce, and the college doesn't really help you find one. You're pretty much on your own when it comes to internships. If you're looking for a college with strong industry connections, DAV might not be the best choice.

Course Information :

I opted for B.Com at DAV College, and the course structure is pretty decent. The syllabus is updated, and you get a good grasp of the fundamentals. However, practical application and industry exposure could be better. Overall, it's a good choice if you're looking for a solid foundation in commerce.

Fee Structure :

The fee structure for B.Com is quite reasonable, around ₹30,000 per year. There are also options for scholarships based on merit and financial need, which is a big plus. However, keep in mind that there might be additional charges for exams and other activities.

Faculty :

Some faculty members are really dedicated and knowledgeable, especially in the commerce department. They're always ready to help you out with your doubts. However, there are a few who seem less invested in teaching. Overall, the faculty is a mixed bag, but you can definitely find some great mentors here.

Campus Details :

The campus is pretty lively, with lots of activities happening throughout the year. The infrastructure is decent, with well-equipped labs and a library. The canteen food is okay, nothing to write home about. Overall, the campus life is enjoyable, and there's always something to do.
