Almost everyone in engineering gets placed, with an average package of around 12 LPA. More than 250 companies visit every year for placements. Internships are also pretty common; you can either take up a project in your department or intern at a company. Stipends usually range from ₹25k to ₹70k per month.

I'm pursuing my MS in Mechanical Engineering here, and the course content is pretty updated with the latest theories and practical applications. Although, I feel like we could be better prepared for job interviews, as the focus is more on the theoretical side. Overall, it's a solid course!

The yearly fees are reasonable, especially considering the quality of education. Plus, IIT Madras being an A-grade college, you can easily get education loans from banks like SBI and Canara at around 9% interest. Also, MHRD offers scholarships, around ₹12.4k for masters and ₹26k for direct PhD students, which is a great help!

The faculty here are top-notch! All of them are PhD holders and world-renowned in their respective fields. They're always involved in various government and private sector projects and have tons of research papers published in top conferences. You'll be learning from the best!

Campus life is awesome! We have our own beach where you can chill anytime (except late at night due to high tides). Just a heads-up, swimming can be risky. The seniors are super helpful, and we have two major fests: Engineer (technical) and Incident (cultural). Incident is the second-largest cultural fest in South India after IIT Bombay's Mood Indigo!
