College Internship Opportunities :

Internship opportunities are okay, but not great. Most of the good placements are for the CSE branch. The placement cell could be more proactive in helping students from core branches find relevant internships. Securing a good internship really depends on your own efforts.

Course Information :

B.Tech in Computer Science at JIS College of Engineering is pretty decent. The course covers all the basics, and you get a good foundation. Some of my friends felt that the curriculum could be updated to include more industry-relevant topics, but overall, it's a solid choice.

Fee Structure :

The fees for the B.Tech programs are around ₹4,00,000 for four years, which is quite reasonable. I didn't stay in the hostel, so I can't comment on those costs, but for day scholars like me, it felt like a good value for money, especially considering the location and connectivity.

Faculty :

Most of the teachers are really helpful and supportive. They explain concepts in Hindi and Bengali too, which is great for students from vernacular backgrounds. However, I wish they focused more on software like MATLAB and PSpice, which are essential for our field.

Campus Details :

The campus is a bit far from the main city, but it's well-connected by local trains and buses, so commuting isn't a big issue. As an introvert, I found it a bit challenging initially, but I made some good friends who helped me gain confidence. The college could definitely improve the Wi-Fi coverage though.
