College Internship Opportunities :
SRM does bring in some companies for internships, but it's not as widespread as you'd hope. Most students end up looking for internships off-campus. The college could definitely improve in this area by partnering with more companies and providing better guidance.
Course Information :
I took B.Tech Mechanical Engineering at SRM. The course structure is pretty standard, but I felt it could use some updates to match the current industry needs. Some of the faculty are really dedicated, but overall, the course needs a bit of a revamp to stay competitive.
Fee Structure :
The fee structure for B.Tech courses is around ₹2.5 to ₹3 lakh per year. Honestly, it feels a bit steep considering the placement rates. There are scholarship options available, but they're quite competitive. Make sure to check the latest fee structure on the SRM website.
Faculty :
Some of the professors are really knowledgeable and helpful, especially in the Mechanical department. However, consistency is an issue. Some faculty members are just not up to par, which can affect your learning experience. Try to connect with the senior professors; they're usually the best.
Campus Details :
The campus is huge and beautiful, no doubt about that! The T.P. Ganesan Auditorium is massive and hosts some great events. You'll find plenty of spots to chill and study. The infrastructure is top-notch, making campus life pretty enjoyable. It’s definitely one of the highlights of SRM.
