Thapar University: Good Campus, But Academics and Placements Need Improvement

Likes

  • Great sports facilities
  • Huge and green campus
  • Decent hostel amenities
  • Vibrant campus life

Dislikes

  • Expensive fees
  • Outdated curriculum
  • Poor internship support
  • Inconsistent faculty quality
  • Class Size :
  • Course Fees : INR per year

College Internship Opportunities :

The college doesn't really help with internships. You're pretty much on your own to find one. They should definitely start putting in more effort to connect students with internship opportunities. It's a crucial part of our learning.

Course Information :

I'm doing my BE in Computer Engineering here. The course is okay, but honestly, some of the stuff they teach in the early semesters feels totally irrelevant to what I actually want to do. They need to update the curriculum to match industry needs.

Fee Structure :

The fees for BE Computer Engineering is around 4-5 Lakhs per year, which is quite expensive. Honestly, considering the quality of education and placement assistance, it feels a bit overpriced. They should definitely consider lowering the fees or improving the services.

Faculty :

Some teachers are really good and helpful, but others seem like they're not experts in their subjects. The student-teacher ratio is also not great, so getting individual attention can be tough. They need to hire more qualified faculty.

Campus Details :

The campus is huge and beautiful, with lots of hostels and sports facilities. You'll find everything from a football ground to a swimming pool. The hostels have AC reading rooms and table tennis, which is a plus. Campus life is definitely a highlight here!
