Chitkara University (CU), Patiala is a government-accredited institution that was established in the year 2010 to confer degrees as in step with the Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. The sprawling 70-acre Punjab campus of the University is equidistant from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ambala and Patiala. It is set up as a co-educational institution with 12818 students and total faculty strength of 736. The university has been ranked 21st in the NIRF Ranking 2021 for the Architecture category, 35th in the pharmacy category and 54th in the Management category. Furthermore, the varsity has secured 113th rank in NIRF Engineering Ranking 2021. Chitkara University Punjab offers programmes from business studies, to programmes in nursing and medical laboratories and from science, electronics and mechanical engineering to architecture.
