NTA released a public advisory on May 7, 2026 outlining CUET UG 2026 exam day guidelines ahead of the Computer-Based Test starting May 11 . The exam runs across India and in 15 cities outside India , and candidates must follow the advisory to avoid entry delays.

CUET UG 2026 exam day guidelines: permitted and prohibited items

Candidates may carry only one transparent, unlabeled water bottle into the centre. Religious articles and objects of faith — including threads such as kalava — are allowed but must be declared at check-in for frisking.

Strictly prohibited items include mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, calculators, pen drives, and any recording devices. Stationery such as paper notes, books, pencil boxes, geometry boxes, pens, scales, and erasers are not allowed inside the examination hall.

Avoid metallic items, heavy jewellery or accessories that could trigger additional security checks. NTA will conduct thorough frisking and verification at all centres.

CUET UG 2026 exam day guidelines: reporting, ID and dress code

You must carry a printed admit card and a valid photo ID to gain entry. Reporting time is mandatory two hours before your scheduled exam shift to complete frisking and verification procedures.

White or light-coloured clothing is preferred on exam day. Woollens are permitted if needed, but you should report them in advance to enable proper frisking. Normal shoes, slippers or low heels are the recommended footwear choices.

If your admit card has any discrepancy, contact the NTA Help Desk immediately. Arrive early to avoid last-minute crowding and to complete identity checks smoothly.

Where the exams are held and allocation statistics

The CBT is scheduled from May 11 to May 31, 2026 . Most candidates received their preferred locations: 96.6% were allotted their chosen city, while 3.4% faced re-allocation.

Centres will follow strict security protocols throughout the exam window. If you carry faith-based items, inform staff at entry to avoid delays during frisking.
