NTA does not publish All India Ranks for CUET UG; it reports the CUET UG percentile, a relative performance measure computed from normalised raw marks across shifts. The CUET UG percentile tells you how you did versus other candidates, not an absolute rank.

CUET UG percentile: Marks vs percentile (key ranges)

Each CUET paper is out of 250 marks . Programs ask for 3, 4 or 5 papers , so total marks vary by course and change the marks-to-percentile mapping.

CUET UG Percentile Marks per subject (out of 250) 3-subject total (out of 750) 4-subject total (out of 1000) 5-subject total (out of 1250)
    99 - 100 240 - 250 700 - 750 988 - 1000 1100 - 1250
    98 - 99 213 - 239 650 - 699 970 - 987 1000 - 1099
    97 - 98 188 - 212 600 - 649 950 - 969 950 - 999
    95 - 96 163 - 187 550 - 599 930 - 949 900 - 949

These ranges reflect typical conversions used to estimate percentiles. For example, scoring 700–750 (three papers) is likely to place you in the 99–100 percentile band.

CUET UG percentile — What it means for admissions

Colleges and programmes set their own percentile cutoffs. Top Delhi University programmes typically need 98+ percentile , especially for high-demand courses like B.A. (Hons) Economics, English and B.Com (Hons). JNU’s School of International Studies and Political Science programmes are usually accessible in the 95–98 percentile range.

Admission choices depend on which and how many papers your chosen programme requires. If a course needs four or five papers, the total marks needed for a given percentile rise accordingly.

How NTA calculates CUET UG percentile

NTA computes percentiles from your raw marks after normalisation across shifts. That normalised score is converted into percentiles to show relative performance. NTA does not release an All India Rank list for CUET UG results.

    FAQs

How does NTA calculate CUET UG percentiles?

NTA normalises raw marks across exam shifts and converts the normalised score into percentiles. NTA does not publish All India Ranks for CUET UG.

What marks do I need for a 99 percentile in CUET UG?

For three subjects, roughly 700–750 marks out of 750. Per-subject this is about 240–250 out of 250.

Is a 98 percentile enough for top DU courses?

Most top DU programmes need 98+ percentile . For very high-demand courses you may need 99+ .

Can 95–98 percentile get me into JNU?

Yes. 95–98 percentile typically opens doors to JNU programmes like Political Science and International Relations.
