Nagaland University MDRC admissions 2026: eligibility, seats and programme details
Eligibility requires at least 50% in Class 12 or equivalent from recognised boards. Candidates still awaiting Class 12 results may apply, subject to the university's admission rules.
The MDRC B.Sc. is available in five disciplines: physics, chemistry, mathematics, zoology and botany. Each discipline has a limited intake of 10 students, a structure the university says will allow more personalised attention.
The programme follows a flexible choice-based credit system (FCBS) aligned with NEP 2020. Students can exit with a certificate after 1 year , a diploma after 2 years , a bachelor’s degree after 3 years , or complete a four-year B.Sc. with a research track.
Those who complete the four-year research track may be eligible for direct entry into PhD programmes as per university rules.
What the course offers
Coursework mixes core science subjects with ability enhancement and value-added courses to boost employability and analytical skills. The MDRC emphasises practical exposure: students will have access to modern laboratories, digital learning tools and central library resources to support coursework and independent research.
Vice-chancellor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik said the initiative reflects the university’s effort to rethink undergraduate education in line with national priorities, highlighting flexible exits, a dedicated research track and a multidisciplinary environment.
Students should note the announcement does not detail application fees, selection criteria, course fees, or hostel arrangements. These will be governed by university admission rules and communicated through the official admission portal.
Apply online at admission.nagalanduniversity.ac.in or email mdrc@nagalanduniversity.ac.in for more details. With limited seats per discipline, early submission of complete applications is advisable.
