For OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS categories the course-wise ranges vary widely. Example: OBC-NCL CSE expected OS 2331–15190 and HS 6364–38508 .
How admissions work and eligibility
You must qualify JEE Main to be eligible for NIT Durgapur admission. Seat allocation happens through JoSAA counselling based on your JEE Main rank and category quotas.
If seats remain vacant after JoSAA rounds, CSAB special rounds are used to fill them. Home-state (HS) and other-state (OS) quotas significantly affect opening and closing ranks each round.
What you should do now
Shortlist branches and prepare an order of preferences for JoSAA using the expected ranges above. Keep alternate branches ready if your rank is outside the top expected cutoffs.
