For entry into the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M. programmes, the NIFT test is administered. The cumulative intake of 5,023 seats will be made available by the 17 participating institutes for NIFT 2023.

In the first week of December 2023, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will release the online application form for NIFT 2023. The application form will be made available on the NIFT admissions website, nift admissions.in. The first week of February will likely see the paper-based administration of the NIFT 2023 exam. For entry into undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) design programmes, the NIFT exam is administered.

Candidates who have passed the 10+2 exam from a recognised institution and are under 24 as of August 1 are eligible for the B.Des programme.
