NEET UG refund 2026: NTA opens bank-details portal on May 21, 2026
The National Testing Agency is expected to open the NEET UG refund 2026 portal on May 21, 2026 , officials said. Candidates who appeared in the cancelled May 3, 2026 exam must submit bank details on the portal to claim category-wise reimbursement.
How to submit bank details for NEET UG refund 2026
Sign in to the NEET portal using your application number and password or date of birth. Once logged in, click the active refund or bank-details update link and fill in: account holder name, bank account number, IFSC code and bank name.
Double-check all entries before submission. Save or download the confirmation page after you submit — you will need it if a payment query arises. NTA has warned that inaccurate details can delay or block reimbursement.
Payment gateway fees and bank-related charges will not be reimbursed. The refund amount will be returned category-wise as per the fee originally charged to each candidate.
Re-NEET 2026, timing and language rules for NEET UG refund 2026
The offline pen-and-paper re-test is scheduled for June 21, 2026 , from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM (total duration 3 hours 15 minutes ). More than 22 lakh students are expected to sit the re-test.
NTA has clarified that candidates cannot change the exam language or medium from what they selected in the original application. That rule applies even if you update bank details for the refund.
Who is eligible and immediate impact for students
Only candidates who appeared in the cancelled May 3 NEET UG exam are eligible to submit bank details for the refund. If you took the exam, you should plan to access the portal on May 21 and complete the form promptly to avoid last-minute issues.
NTA login requires your application number and password or date of birth. Keep these credentials ready. Remember that the refunded sum will exclude payment gateway and banking charges, so the credited amount may be slightly less than what you paid.
Officials have not released a timeline for when refunds will hit bank accounts or how disputes will be handled; candidates should retain the confirmation page and monitor official NEET communications for updates.
Authorities urge caution while entering details — an accurate account holder name, correct account number and IFSC are essential to avoid failed transfers.
