Generally, MIT doesn't offer lateral entry to its B.Tech programs, and this is pretty standard across Anna University campuses like CEG as well. So, you can't directly jump into the second year of B.Tech after your polytechnic diploma.

However, there's a workaround! MIT does have part-time B.Tech courses in similar fields. These courses are designed for folks with a diploma and at least two years of work experience. You'll also need a letter from your current employer recommending you for the program.

The part-time B.Tech programs usually take about three and a half years to complete, and the academic year kicks off in December. So, while you can't get a direct lateral entry, this could be a solid alternative to earn your B.Tech degree!
