Well, if you're from Kerala, chances are pretty good you'll snag a spot in IT at CUSAT's SOE with a 2000 rank.

Even if you're not from Kerala, don't lose hope! Last year, a friend of mine got in with a rank around 2091, and he was the last one for that branch.

NRI Quota Option

If the rank doesn't work out, you could also try for the NRI quota. The fees are a bit higher, but if there's an open NRI seat after the general counseling, you've got a shot. Some people even try their luck during the spot rounds. Check the CUSAT & SOE website for all the NRI quota details.
