From what I've heard from friends at Kongu Engineering College, North Indian students generally feel right at home. You shouldn't worry about feeling out of place. Everyone’s treated pretty much the same, and there's no real bias in how you're taught or where you stay. You'll likely find it easy to settle in and study there.

The only thing you might need to adjust to is the language, but otherwise, North Indian students usually don't face any major issues.
