IIT Bhubaneswar offers a pretty solid academic environment. They had a good placement record in 2019, with 90% of students getting placed and many companies visiting. A lot of the professors come from IIT Kharagpur, which is a plus.

As for hostel life, it's quite secure with wardens and staff keeping an eye on things. They're strict about no ragging, alcohol, drugs, or smoking. There are separate hostels for boys (Mahanadi and Brahmaputra) and girls (Subarnarekha and Ganga), all equipped with basic amenities. Hostel fees are roughly between ₹19,300 to ₹51,600.
