So, you're curious about BH5 at IIIT Allahabad? My cousin was there, and here’s the lowdown:

Rooms : Expect double sharing with basic stuff like a bed, table, chair, cupboard, and internet. No AC, but coolers are allowed. Heads up, no balconies in BH5.
Mess : The mess is pretty big and supposedly serves better food than other hostels. You'll find a variety of dishes, but the taste can be hit or miss. Breakfast usually includes bread, butter/jam, eggs/fruit, milk, and a main dish. Dinner always has a sweet, and non-veg is served on Sundays. If you're not feeling the mess food, there's a canteen with snacks and Indian dishes. You can also order food from outside.
Internet : WiFi is available, but the speed can be spotty in the hostel. Jio is the provider, and the computer lab usually has the best speeds.
Other Stuff : There are common halls for chilling and four washrooms on each floor, cleaned daily. Sometimes you might have to wait to use the washroom. There's also a lawn for outdoor activities.
