Well, IIIT Ranchi is actually shifting to a temporary campus soon, and the distance between the hostel and the academic block will be around 10-15 km.

The faculty recruitment process isn't always the best.
However, if you're really into ECE or CSE, the faculty quality is decent enough.
You'll need to maintain a good relationship with the professors to score well in exams.
Placement stats aren't great, and with a batch size of 120-150 (possibly increasing to 180), it can be tough.

Honestly, it doesn't look like IIIT Ranchi will have a permanent campus anytime soon. So, you might want to consider other options.
