At IIT Ropar, the hostel rooms are designed to accommodate students comfortably. Typically, for the first and second-year students, two students share a room. However, once you reach your third and fourth year, you get a single occupancy room, which is pretty cool!

In the past, during the initial years, there used to be four students in a room for the first year. It was quite an experience, though a bit crowded. While double occupancy is generally preferred, single rooms offer more privacy as you progress in your academic years.
