Both IIM Kozhikode and SJMSOM are great options, but IIMK might be a better fit for you, unless you're really into Operations, in which case SJMSOM could be the way to go.

Given your average academics, you might face some challenges during placements since many of your peers will likely have stronger academic backgrounds. However, there are ways to boost your profile. You could try winning competitions, taking on significant Positions of Responsibility (PORs), and aiming for top grades in your MBA program.

Even if you don't land your dream placement right away, you can still excel in your job and leverage your performance, along with the IIM alumni network, to open up better opportunities down the line.
