Well, it really depends on what you're looking for! If you want a great campus life and are thinking about an MBA or preparing for civil services, IIT Madras might be a better fit. But, if you're super focused on getting the best CSE education, IIIT Hyderabad is an awesome choice.

Placements:

Placements largely depend on how good you are. Generally, a student with a decent CGPA from IIT Madras might have an edge over someone from IIIT Hyderabad.

Research:

IIIT Hyderabad usually has better research output because of its faculty and environment. You'll often see undergrads there publishing papers in top conferences.

Coding Culture:

IIIT Hyderabad has a seriously strong coding culture. For example, in the summer of 2020, many students got selected for GSoC, including some first-year undergrads. Plus, the best performance from India in the ACM ICPC world finals was from IIIT Hyderabad.

If you're unsure about your main interests, IIT Madras could be a safer bet.
