Generally, IIIT Ranchi doesn't allow branch changes after the first year. However, most students are usually happy with their initially allotted branch.

Both the CSE and ECE programs offer similar training. The ECE branch at IIIT Ranchi is quite good, and very few students actually want to switch out of it. Don't base your decision solely on placement opportunities, as the tech industry is constantly evolving, and there's high demand for various tech-related jobs.

For placements, you'll likely participate alongside students from NIT Jamshedpur, with no discrimination. Some classes might even be held at NIT Jamshedpur.
