Well, if you're aiming for GATE preparation, the college you attend won't matter all that much. Most students from IT or Computer Science backgrounds can sit for about 90% of company placements, but you'll need to keep your grades above 60% or 70%.

If you're in ECE or EN, you can usually access around 70% of company placements, with similar grade requirements. Other branches might not have as many placement opportunities. Many UPTU colleges focus on core company placements, but these are competitive, and not everyone gets a spot since core companies tend to hire fewer people.

So, my advice is to focus on your semester studies and do well in your internal exams. This will help you maintain a good overall percentage, which is crucial for securing a good job in the future.
