Deciding whether to drop another year for JEE Mains or join a newer IIIT like IIIT Lucknow is a tough call. Dropping a year might not be the best move. If you aren't getting into IITs or NITs with your current score, consider this:

Boosting your score by just 20-30 marks might not land you in a top IIT or NIT.
Joining IIIT Lucknow means you won't waste a year and you'll gain valuable knowledge.
Don't underestimate newer IIITs. They can offer great placement opportunities too.
With hard work and passion, you can secure lucrative packages from places like IIIT Lucknow.

Someone I know regretted dropping a year for a third attempt. They later joined IIIT Allahabad and received excellent placement offers. Success doesn't always depend on a brand name.
