From what I've heard from NIT Trichy alumni and students, the placement scene for VLSI is pretty solid, probably better than most other NITs in India. Big names like SanDisk, Intel, Samsung, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments often visit the campus to recruit VLSI students.
