How does civil engineering at IIEST Shibpur compare to NIT Raipur?

From what I've heard, IIEST Shibpur is a solid choice for engineering, especially civil. A friend of mine studied there and had a great experience:

The civil engineering faculty is generally excellent, though a few might not be top-notch based on student feedback.
There are tons of projects and research opportunities in the civil engineering department. The teachers are really supportive if you're into project work.
IIEST gained central status a while back, which is boosting research and teaching even more.

So, yeah, civil engineering at IIEST is definitely a good option, possibly even better than NIT Raipur in some aspects.
