Well, one of my friends is in the Computer Engineering Department at NIT Surat, so I can share some insights.

NIT Surat is quite famous for its Mechanical Engineering program. The faculty in the Mechanical Department are considered top-notch compared to other departments.

If you're into robotics, NIT Surat has a student club called Drishti, which is all about robotics, and SAE for designing cars.

So, if you're keen on mechanical engineering, NIT Surat might be a good choice. Both NIT Surat and NIT Calicut have good reputations, so you probably won't regret choosing either.
