From what I've heard from friends at Karunya University, the hostel has some decent facilities:

Rooms: Usually, four students share a room. Each room has two double-decker beds, four tables, four cupboards, and a mirror. Just so you know, there aren't any TVs in the rooms, but there's a TV in the common area where everyone can watch stuff together.
Food: The food in the mess is pretty good and hygienic.
Gym: There's a gym for students. You just need to pay ₹500 each semester to use all the equipment.
Newspaper: You'll get The Hindu newspaper daily to keep up with the news.
Shops: There are plenty of shops around for your needs, like Kannan departmental stores, a fruit stall, Cool and Yummy, a hot kitchen, a Xerox shop, a studio, beauty parlors, a tailor shop, and even a cobbler shop.

Overall, the hostel facilities at Karunya University are quite good, making it a comfortable place to stay.
