What are the future prospects of Thapar University?

From what I've heard, Thapar University has been focusing more on increasing student enrollment and raising fees lately. In the Computer Engineering (COE) branch, there are over 350 students in a batch, which makes the student-teacher ratio quite poor. You might find one teacher for a class of 80 students.

Some branches like CML or CAG had to be shut down because the university couldn't provide qualified teachers. Students from those branches were shifted to the COE department after two years.

Placement-wise, only a few companies offering around INR 10 LPA visit the campus. Most companies offer packages between INR 3-9 LPA. A few students get placed in companies like Amazon or Deshaw with packages around INR 20 LPA, but most end up in companies like TCS and Infosys.

The quality of education has reportedly declined in recent years, and the technical fests aren't that great. There aren't many good technical events held.

It might be challenging for the university to maintain a top 50 ranking in the coming years.
