Honestly, the placement scenario for food tech at SLIET isn't great. Unlike core branches like Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering, food technology isn't as in-demand in India right now.

India is still developing, and we don't consume as much processed food as Western countries. Most of the population prefers fresh, local items over packaged goods. Even though processed foods are available, many people opt for local markets for fruits and vegetables because they find sealed products expensive and less negotiable.

Food technology has better scope in foreign countries compared to India. If you're really passionate about it, consider pursuing a PG course from top colleges like CFTRI and developing additional skills. With just a graduate degree from SLIET, finding a decent job might be tough. So, think carefully if this is the field you truly want to pursue.
