Here’s what my friend has to say about her time there:

General Life: MIT has a vibrant campus life with tons of student and technical clubs. There’s always something happening.
Sports: If you’re into sports, especially cricket and football, MIT has some serious competition with its semi-professional leagues.
Food: Manipal is a food lover's paradise! You’ll find plenty of options, including some great Mexican places. The mess food is supposedly better than what you get in most other engineering colleges.
Bars and Recreation: It's true that Manipal has a reputation for partying. There are lots of temptations around, but it really comes down to personal choices.
Academics: The faculty for Mechanical and Civil are quite supportive and knowledgeable. However, academics can be a bit marks-driven, and the labs, especially for Mechanical and Civil, could use some upgrades.
Placements: This is where MIT seems to lag a bit. The placement scenario isn't great, with fewer companies offering lower packages. Most students end up with average jobs. The college doesn’t seem to focus much on the quality of companies, and core companies are visiting less often as student intake increases.

Overall, MIT Manipal is great for campus life and higher education prep, but the placements could be better. If you’re planning to pursue further studies, it’s a good place to be!
