What do IITians generally think about BITS Goa and BITS Hyderabad, especially concerning placements and competition?

From what I've heard from friends at IITs, there's a bit of mixed feelings about BITS Goa and Hyderabad. Many IITians acknowledge that BITS can be quite competitive, especially in Computer Science, where some BITS students even snag better placements than some IIT students.

However, they also admit that if they hadn't cracked a good rank in JEE to get into a top IIT, BITS Pilani or its Hyderabad/Goa campuses would have been high on their list, mainly for the solid placements and brand reputation. Of course, top NITs also come into the picture.

So, while IIT students might not always love the comparison due to the IIT tag carrying significant weight, they generally recognize that BITS is a strong contender.
