Living in the MIT hostel can be quite an experience! Previously, students had more freedom, but now there's a fence, which might be a bit of a hassle. However, this change was made to enhance safety.

The hostel area is about one-third of the campus, making it one of the smaller ones in Tamil Nadu.
It’s a great space with lots of trees, perfect for hanging out with batchmates, juniors, and seniors. Though compact, it’s pretty awesome.
The smaller campus size means everything is closer, which is a plus.
Hostels are close to each other, making it easy to connect with fellow MITians.
The only downside is that the playground and extra dorms are far, located past the main gate.
The mess is usually packed, except during breakfast. Even then, friends often share plates.
Students rush to the mess around 8:25 a.m. to sneak breakfast onto their friends' plates.

From department events to movies, IPL games, and MITAFEST, there's always something happening. It's a whole new world where you can shout, dance, and perform on stage.

Hostel gate closing times are 6:00 PM for first-year engineering students, 9:00 PM for girls, and 10:00 PM for boys.
