IIT BHU is a top engineering college in India, ranked 11th for B.Tech by NIRF 2020. Generally, the placement rate across all branches is around 71%.

Electronics Engineering:

Almost 95% of students from the Electronics Engineering department get placed every year. The placements are on par with Computer Science.

The average package is around 14 LPA.
Core companies include Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), ECIL, Qualcomm, Intel, Sony, LG Electronics, Texas Instruments, Cisco, and Philips Semiconductors.

Electrical Engineering:

The Electrical Department also has a strong placement record, with around 90% of students getting placed last year.

The average package is around 11-12 LPA.
Core recruiting companies include PGCIL, IOCL, HPCL, Trident, Reliance, and Maruti.

Non-core sector companies in analytics, business, management, and consultancies also offer jobs in both departments. Some software companies prefer Electronics, but overall, the companies visiting for both departments are nearly the same. Based on these stats, Electronics Engineering placements are generally better than Electrical Engineering placements.
