From what I know, IEM Kolkata is pretty well-known for its Computer Science (CSE) and IT placements, especially compared to core branches like Civil or Mechanical. Since it's located in the IT hub, most companies that visit for recruitment are software-based.

Many students feel that Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) is a strong branch. The closing ranks for ECE are often lower than other branches, which might indicate its popularity.
