Well, both IT and EC at CUSAT are pretty solid choices! Honestly, there's not a huge difference in the quality of education you'll get between these two or any other branch there. They really push you to work hard, pay attention to details, and focus a lot on practical classes and lab work.

Most of the faculty (around 85%) are permanent, which is a good sign. Everyone has their own opinion on faculty quality, but my friends at CUSAT say the main difference is that EC students might grind a bit harder than those in other branches.

Placement-wise, the average CTC is around 4 LPA, and the highest can go up to 15 LPA.

Ultimately, the best branch for you depends on what you're into. Think about where your interests lie, whether you can handle the workload, and if the subjects excite you. Don't stress too much about placements right now; focus on what you enjoy learning!
