But, comparing numbers alone isn't the whole story. Getting into IIT Bombay is pretty straightforward if you can nail the JEE exam and clear the cutoff. Harvard, on the other hand, looks at everything: SAT scores, AP exams, TOEFL for international students, your grades, extracurriculars, projects, recommendations, interviews, and workshops. Plus, Harvard's application fee is $75, and many people don't even bother applying because they know it's a long shot. That's why Harvard and other top-tier schools have lower application rates.
