Eligibility
To qualify for the Central Sanskrit University (CSU), Delhi 2025-26 Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be actively pursuing Sanskrit, Pali, or Prakrit as a primary or elective subject at a recognized university or educational institution.
- Be enrolled in studies ranging from Class 9 through the Ph.D. level.
- Have achieved a minimum score of 60% in the most recent qualifying examination.
- Possess the ability to read and write in simple Sanskrit, Pali, or Prakrit.
This scholarship is divided into two streams: Traditional and Modern. The specific eligibility requirements for each stream are detailed below:

Note:
- Ph.D./Vidyavaridhi candidates also receive an annual contingency amount of ₹5,000.
- The Ph.D./Vidyavaridhi scholarship is awarded for 36 months, contingent on satisfactory performance. Renewal requires a progress report and utilization certificate from the guide and department head.
Documents Required
Applicants must provide a scanned copy of their photograph and signature. The maximum file size for each is 50 KB.
Note: The Principal/HOD/Dean will verify the applicant's details, with a countersignature from the appropriate authority as specified in section 'F' of the 'Scholarship Details' document.
How to Apply
Follow these steps to apply:
Step 1: Click the 'Apply Now' button and review the details.
Step 2: Register by clicking the 'Register' button and filling in the required information. (If already registered, log in with your email ID.)
Step 3: Go to ‘Apply for Scholarship by the Student’ and click on the ‘Student Login for Online Scholarship Application’ tab.
Step 4: Click ‘Register’ and enter the necessary information to register on the website.
Step 5: Log in using your credentials after successful registration.
Step 6: Click ‘Online Application for Scholarship’, complete the form, upload documents, and submit.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship committee selects candidates based on merit and eligibility criteria. Preference is given to students in traditional/oriental studies, followed by honors and M.A. students.

The application deadline is September 30th, 2025.
Terms & Conditions
Key terms and conditions include:
- Scholarship funds are disbursed via PFMS/NEFT/RBI/DBT/E-transfer to the candidate’s bank account.
- The scholarship covers 10 months, from July 1st to April 30th annually. Students must reapply each year.
- Applicants need an Aadhaar-linked bank account in a nationalized bank. Joint accounts are allowed for students up to class 12.
- Recipients must not receive other funding during the scholarship.
- Engaging in unrelated jobs or courses disqualifies the applicant.
- The university should be informed immediately if the applicant receives other scholarships.
- No study gaps are allowed.
- The university can modify rules or reject applications without explanation.
- Merit certificates are given to students who voluntarily return the scholarship, which may then be awarded to needy students.
- Appreciation certificates are issued to students who wish to donate their scholarship to a poor/needy student.
- Ph.D./Vidyavaridhi admissions must be regular and comply with UGC guidelines.
- Ph.D./Vidyavaridhi scholarships start from the admission date, requiring full-time research without other funding.
- Breaks between postgraduation and Ph.D. may be considered.
- Second Ph.D. scholarships are not provided.
- Unsatisfactory progress may lead to scholarship termination.
