About
The Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA) 2025, sponsored by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), offers financial aid to the children of active Army personnel from Class 9 through postgraduate studies. Successful candidates may be awarded up to ₹10,000 annually, along with a certificate of merit.
*AWES oversees educational support for the children of Indian Army personnel.
Eligibility
To qualify for the Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA) 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be under 25 years of age when completing the qualifying class or course.
- Be a ward of a serving Army personnel or Military Nursing Service (MNS) officer.
- Be enrolled in Classes 9 through PG level at a recognized institution, college, or university.
Note: This scholarship does not extend to wards of retired or deceased Army personnel, or those in the Territorial Army (TA).
Benefits
Recipients of the Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA) 2025 will receive the following benefits, along with a merit certificate, based on their level of education:

Documents Required
Applicants must provide the following documents:
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Certificate from the OC unit
- Certificate from the Head of the School/Institute
- Marksheet or certificate from the previous qualifying examination

The application deadline is January 8, 2025.
Terms & Conditions
Scholarship awards will be directly transferred to the recipients' bank accounts via NEFT or RTGS, using the account details provided in their applications.
