IPMAT 2026 marks vs percentile out of 360: a score between 280 and 340 in IPMAT Indore typically maps to the 90–99 percentile , placing candidates strongly for a Personal Interview call.

IPMAT 2026 marks vs percentile out of 360 — key numbers

IPMAT Indore is conducted out of 360 marks across three sections: QA-MCQ, QA-SA and Verbal Ability. Marking is +4 / -1 for MCQs and no negative marking in QA-SA. The test pool in recent years has been roughly 22,000–25,000 candidates.

Official scorecards from IIM Indore show raw section marks, the normalized Aptitude Test Score (ATS) and shortlist status; IIM Indore does not display percentiles on the scorecard. The ATS combines sections as QA-MCQ 25% + QA-SA 25% + VA 50% for final shortlisting.

IPMAT 2026 marks vs percentile out of 360 — bands and shortlist impact

    • 345+ marks generally maps to 100 percentile (top scorers).
    • 280–340 marks 90–99 percentile and a strong position for PI shortlists at IIM Indore.
    • 200–280 marks → roughly 80–90 percentile , possible shortlist depending on category and sectional balance.
    • Scores around 164–176 marks have historically corresponded to the ~95th percentile threshold for general-category shortlist inference from RTI data.
    • Scores below 120 usually fall near the 50th percentile or below.

Sectional cutoffs are non-compensatory: all three section minimums must be met to reach the ATS stage. The general-category sectional cutoffs in 2025 were QA-SA 24 , QA-MCQ 28 , and VA 112 . Only 818 candidates cleared all sectional cutoffs in IPMAT 2025.

    Rank mapping and college chances

With the usual applicant pool, a score of 320+ generally places a candidate within the top 100 ; 280+ typically falls into the top 500 . Historically, around 800–1,000 candidates are shortlisted for PI at IIM Indore each year.

A general-category candidate aiming for admission should target 240+ marks as a broad safe band for being considered by IIM Indore, while 280+ makes a candidate highly competitive. Lower scores remain relevant for other IPM-offering IIMs and reserved categories.

RTI disclosures from IIM Indore (covering 2023–2025 ) provide the granular cutoff PDFs and ATS summaries used to infer these mappings. Students should check IIM Indore communications and the RTI PDFs for final official figures and category-wise lists.
