10th Class CBSE Result 2026: Who can appear in the second board examination

You must submit LOC and have the examination fee paid by the school to be eligible. Students placed in the ER category are not eligible and must wait for next year’s exam cycle. If you are in the Compartment category, you may choose either the second board exam in May or the compartment exam in July.

A student may appear in a maximum of three subjects in the second board exam: any one language plus up to two other subjects (for example, Mathematics, Science, Social Science). The only permitted subject change is between Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic (either direction).

If a student’s name is submitted in the LOC but they do not actually sit the second exam, the February/main result will remain final and the student will not be marked absent. The syllabus and paper pattern for the second exam remain the same as the main examination.

Date sheet and subject-wise timings will be published on the official website shortly. Keep in touch with your school and check cbse.gov.in or DigiLocker for the formal schedule and hall ticket updates.
