CBSE 12th result 2026 expected on or before May 13, 2026
The Central Board of Secondary Education is likely to declare the CBSE 12th result 2026 on or before May 13, 2026 , for 18,59,551 candidates who sat exams from Feb 17 to Apr 10, 2026 . Exams covered 120 subjects at 7,574 centres nationwide.
CBSE used the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for evaluation this year. Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj has denied reports of technical glitches, saying evaluation is progressing "perfectly" under OSM.
How to check CBSE 12th result 2026 and what you need
You can view your CBSE 12th result 2026 on cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. Digital marksheets will also be available on DigiLocker and the UMANG app. To access results you need your roll number, school number, admit card ID and date of birth.
If you plan to use DigiLocker, ensure your account is active and linked to an Aadhaar-linked mobile number for OTP verification. UMANG requires a registered mobile number for CBSE services. DigiLocker copies are officially valid for admissions and verification.
Platforms for CBSE 12th result 2026 and expected traffic
CBSE will publish results across multiple portals to reduce congestion: cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.gov.in, DigiLocker and UMANG. Students may also receive updates via SMS and IVRS if the board activates those services.
During peak hours result portals can slow down. Keep your admit card handy and try alternate platforms (DigiLocker/UMANG) if main sites are slow.
Pass criteria, past trends and post-result options
The minimum passing mark remains 33% in each subject. Past overall pass percentages were 87.33% in 2023, 87.98% in 2024 and 88.39% in 2025.
After results are declared CBSE will open verification, photocopy and revaluation windows. Detailed schedules and fees for these services are expected to be released by the board following the announcement.
Immediate student impact
With more than 18 lakh students awaiting scores, admissions teams at colleges will prepare application portals and counselling schedules soon after declaration. Students should verify all details on the provisional marksheet—name spelling, roll number, subject-wise marks and practical scores—and contact their school immediately if they spot errors.
Board authorities have warned against unofficial result links circulating on social media. Rely only on official CBSE portals and verified apps when checking your CBSE 12th result 2026.
