CBSE also supports result checks via SMS. Candidates can send the required details to the Board's SMS service to receive a text-based result alert.
What qualifying and compartment rules mean for you
To qualify, students must secure a minimum of 33/100 in each subject. For subjects with theory and practical components, separate passing marks are mandatory.
Students who fail in one subject only are eligible to appear for the CBSE compartment exam. Those declared 'ER' (failed in two or more subjects) are not eligible for the supplementary and must retake the year.
The CBSE 12th Supplementary/Compartment exam is scheduled for July 15, 2026 . The application window is likely in the late third or fourth week of May 2026, with fees as follows:
- Indian regular/private candidates: Rs 300 per subject .
- Foreign students: Rs 1,000–2,000 per subject .
- Late application fee (inclusive): Rs 2,000 .
Immediate student impact and next steps
If you passed: save your DigiLocker PDF — universities and colleges accept the digital marksheet for admissions. If you failed in one subject: watch for the compartment application window in late May and prepare for the July 15 exam. If you failed multiple subjects (ER), contact your school for repeat-year procedures.
