CBSE Curriculum 2026-27: New syllabus released for Classes IX to XII and webinar details

CBSE released the CBSE Curriculum 2026-27 on April 2, 2026 for Classes IX and X; Classes XI–XII documents came out April 1. The curriculum is valid until 2031 and a webinar is set for April 2, 3:00 PM.

    CBSE Curriculum 2026-27 released for Classes IX–XII

    CBSE released the CBSE Curriculum 2026-27 for Classes IX and X on April 2, 2026 . The board published the curriculum PDF on cbseacademic.nic.in and says the documents apply to Classes IX, X, XI and XII .

    The curriculum for Classes XI and XII was released a day earlier, on April 1, 2026 . CBSE has stated this curriculum and the scheme of studies will be followed until 2031 (about five years).

    What the CBSE Curriculum 2026-27 covers

    CBSE says the 2026-27 curriculum is aligned with recommendations of the National Curriculum Framework . Key emphases listed by the board are:

    • Competency-based education
    • Experiential learning
    • Skill-based learning
    • Increased flexibility in subject choices and holistic development

    A revised scheme of studies has been introduced specifically for Class IX from the 2026-27 session. No subject-wise topic lists, marks distribution or assessment changes were published in the initial release.
