    BITSAT 2026 Session 1: April 15–16 exam summary

    BITSAT 2026 Session 1 was conducted by BITS Pilani on April 15–16, 2026 across centres in India and abroad. Admit cards were released on April 10, 2026 and candidates were asked to report 60–90 minutes before their shift.

    BITSAT 2026 exam pattern & marking

    The exam was a computer‑based test (CBT). The key numbers are: 3 hours , 130 MCQs , total 390 marks . Each correct answer carries +3 and each wrong answer carries −1 .

    Exam day rules and verification

    You must carry your admit card and a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Driving Licence). Biometric verification (fingerprint and photo) was enforced at centres. Rough sheets were provided for work and had to be returned after the exam.

    No mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators or study material are allowed inside the centre. Late entry after gate closing or exam start was not permitted. Re‑entry after a washroom break required fresh security checks.

    Participation, seats and competition

    Session 1 registrations were estimated between 1.5 lakh and over 3 lakh candidates. Applicants were competing for roughly 2,970–4,000 BITS seats across campuses. Early candidate-reported marks from Session 1 included scores such as 290, 245, 221, 125, 150, 239, 146 .

    Expected cutoffs (subject to official confirmation) for CSE at Pilani were estimated around 305–325 .

    Paper difficulty & attempts (student feedback)

    Shift reports described most papers as moderate in difficulty. Maths was reported as tougher or lengthier in some shifts. A good attempt for April 16 shift 2 was reported around 105–115 accurate attempts.

    Malpractice policy

    BITS Pilani maintained a strict zero‑tolerance malpractice policy. Any candidate found using unfair means may face disqualification and other penalties, including cancellation of admission.
