IIT Madras Zanzibar Admissions 2026: Programmes and campus snapshot
Programs open this cycle include BS in Data Science & AI , BS in Chemical Process Engineering , and M.Tech specialisations in Data Science & AI , Ocean Structures , and Industrial AI . PhD positions are also available.
The Zanzibar campus, on the Fumba peninsula development, hosts over 129 enrolled students from Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, Kenya and other countries. A new hostel block was inaugurated in January 2026 and the permanent campus is under development.
How to apply and required documents
You must register and complete your application on admissions.iitmz.ac.in . Upload a resume/CV, Grade 10 and 12 mark sheets, statement of purpose, and UG/PG transcripts and degree certificates. Provide accurate contact details and fill all mandatory fields.
Shortlisted candidates from the screening test will be invited for online interviews. The M.Tech shortlist will be processed for interviews in early May; BS interviews will follow in mid-June.
Screening tests, selection and outcomes
Screening tests are scheduled at centres both in India and abroad to accommodate international applicants. Tests run for 3 hours (IST and EAT timings adjusted). After tests, shortlisted candidates face online interviews before final offers.
