VITEEE 2026 exam day guidelines: Admit cards out and test window details
Vellore Institute of Technology released VITEEE 2026 admit cards on April 26, 2026 through the OTBS portal (viteee.vit.ac.in). The computer-based test runs from April 28 to May 3, 2026 across multiple centres.
VITEEE 2026 exam day guidelines: timings, admit card and slot booking
The exam duration is 150 minutes with 125 MCQs carrying 500 marks . The new marking scheme is +4 for correct and -1 for incorrect answers. Primary daily shifts are 9:30 AM–12:00 PM and 2:30 PM–5:00 PM ; some centres may run a third shift 4:00 PM–6:30 PM .
Admit cards were issued on the OTBS portal and are generated 48 hours before your booked slot. The OTBS slot booking window was open from April 17, 2026 (6:00 PM) to April 19, 2026 (5:00 PM) and is now closed.
Reporting and gate rules: candidates must report 120 minutes before their shift for biometric registration. Reporting times are 7:30 AM for the morning shift and 12:30 PM for the afternoon shift. For Shift 2 the gate closing time is 2:00 PM — no late entry will be permitted.

Section-wise question count is Math 40 , Physics 35 , Chemistry 35 , Aptitude 10 , English 5 . Biology-track (BPCEA) papers replace the Math section with 40 Biology questions while keeping total questions at 125 .
The test runs in CBT mode. The on-screen interface shows your profile, a live timer, and a colour-coded question palette. An on-screen basic calculator is available where allowed; physical calculators are banned. The system saves progress automatically; inform invigilators immediately if you face technical issues.
Scale and student impact
Around 2.5–2.8 lakh candidates are estimated to have registered for VITEEE 2026. Total B.Tech intake across VIT campuses is roughly 12,000–14,000 seats. Estimated CSE intake by campus: Vellore ~2,500–3,000 , Chennai ~1,500–2,000 , VIT-AP ~1,200–1,500 , Bhopal ~1,000–1,200 .
VIT has emphasised strict time and biometric procedures: there is no provision to reschedule a missed slot. Admit-card information and centre-specific instructions on reporting must be followed exactly as printed on your OTBS hall ticket.

Download and print your OTBS admit card if it is available for your slot. Note your shift, reporting time and biometric instructions. Carry the photo ID and the printed hall ticket as specified by VIT on the admit card.
