    The test ran for 3 hours and had 130 questions worth 390 marks . Each correct answer gives +3 and each wrong answer carries -1 .

    Student feedback shows shift 1 was generally moderate with maths described as lengthy but doable. Shift 2 had a tougher chemistry section; many reported time pressure and higher negative attempts in Chemistry and Maths.

    Estimated total seats across BITS campuses are about 4,000 . Historical CSE cutoffs at Pilani were 331 (2023) , 327 (2024) and 304 (2025) out of 390.

    Eligibility reminders

    You need a minimum 75% aggregate in PCM (or PCB for B.Pharm) and 60% in each of Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology. Candidates who retook class 12 for all subjects are not eligible in 2026. You can appear in the year you pass class 12 and the immediately following year.
